A rare and well-preserved example of 19TH CENTURY from 19th Century, noted for its craftsmanship, material quality, and historical relevance.

A charming and delicately moulded 19th-century famille rose porcelain snuff bottle, expertly modelled as a recumbent lady in a pose of relaxed elegance. She is depicted resting on her elbow, dressed in a mustard-yellow tunic with floral medallions and pale blue trousers, her tiny red ''lotus shoes'' a classic hallmark of Qing Dynasty aesthetic. The finely moulded snuff bottle in the shape of a recumbent figure with one hand holding a raised leg an the other arm supporting the head, with richly decorate robes, the stopper moulded as one of the feet. The figure displays a serene facial expression and a finely detailed black-glazed topknot. This piece represents the playful ''novelty'' style of porcelain art produced in Jingdezhen for the sophisticated collector.
