Chinese Porcelain
A CHINESE PORCELAIN BLUE AND WHITE DISH ...
A rare and well-preserved example of 1900, noted for its craftsmanship, material quality, and historical relevance.
A Chinese Porcelain Blue and White Dish with Five-Clawed Dragon Having Chenghua Mark To Base. Porcelain painted with underglaze cobalt blue. The central motif is a stylized dragon, a common and powerful symbol. The dragon's dynamic pose and the depiction of waves suggest a theme of power over the waters. The detailed depiction of waves is a typical motif found in Ming ceramics, often symbolising the ocean or representing imperial power over the waters. The marks to base reads: ''Made in the (Chenghua) year of the Great Ming(Dynasty).''
