IMPORTANT 19CT IMPERIAL RUSSIAN PERIDOT & DIAMOND ...

A rare and well-preserved example of 19TH CENTURY from Attributed to Carl Fabergé, noted for its craftsmanship, material quality, and historical relevance.

Imperial Russian Peridot & Diamond Trellis Brooch Attributed to Carl Fabergé | Provenance: Paris, New York, & London\n\nA centrepiece of spectacular scale: a ~19.00-carat octagonal step-cut natural peridot. The stone exhibits a vibrant ''Imperial Green'' saturation and superb transparency, a hallmark of high-tier Russian jewellery from the late 19th century. The peridot is housed in an intricate, open-work ''trellis'' frame of interlocking knots, densely encrusted with antique rose-cut and old-mine-cut diamonds.\n\nConstruction: Silver-topped 14K Gold (traditional Imperial Russian technique).\nHallmarks: Struck with the 56 zolotnik gold mark and the Cyrillic ''??'' (KF) maker''s mark for the House of Carl Fabergé.\n\nCondition Report\nExcellent antique condition. The structural integrity of the trellis remains perfect, and the original mechanical pin and safety clasp are fully functional.\n\nCondition Report: Presentation Case\nExterior Condition: The cream Moroccan leather shows a natural, aged patina consistent with a 100-year-old object. The gilt-tooled ''dentelle'' (lace) border remains remarkably bright and intact around the circumference of the lid. The structure of the octagonal frame is solid with no warping. The underside is well-preserved, featuring the original G.S. May collection sticker, which remains firmly adhered and legible.\n\nInterior Condition:\nSilk Lid Lining: The silk shows expected ''ruffling'' and compression marks from decades of contact with the brooch. There is a slight softening of the fabric near the hinge, which is typical for silk of this era.\nGold Branding: 12 Rue de la Paix'' and Rome gold-stamped lettering remains partly clear.\nVelvet Base: The deep plum velvet retains its rich colour with minimal fading.\nBespoke Fitting: There is a distinct, permanent indentation in the velvet specifically where the brooch's pin and central peridot sit, confirming this case has been the dedicated home for this piece for the majority of its life.\nHinge: The rear hinge is secure and operates smoothly without resistance.\nClasp: The external push-button release is fully functional and provides a ''crisp'' closure, ensuring the brooch is stored securely.\n\nThe Historical Connection: 12 Rue de la Paix\n\n***This piece is offered as a premier example of Russian Imperial craftsmanship. While the design and hallmarks are characteristic of the Fabergé workshops, it is sold as ''attributed to'' the maker to reflect its private collection history. Buyers are encouraged to view the 19ct specimen stone and period-correct case as testament to its extraordinary rarity***
