REPUBLIC PERIOD (C. 1920S) CHINESE JADE "AUSPICIOUS" ...

A rare and well-preserved example of 1920 from 1920, noted for its craftsmanship, material quality, and historical relevance.

Dating to the c. 1920s Republic Era, this 5cm hand-carved Jade pendant features a traditional ''Qilin and Crane'' motif, symbolizing high virtue and longevity. The piece is crafted from a classic celadon-toned stone with natural, dark ''ink'' inclusions that provide a sophisticated, marbled character. The pendant exhibits a desirable waxy, ''oily'' lustre consistent with century-old handling. Under backlighting, it reveals a soft, buttery translucency and a fine interlocking grain characteristic of good quality. With its fluid, hand-finished details and single suspension hole, it represents a high-quality example of early 20th-century Chinese lapidary art.
